Help With Medicare (SHIP)

If you make an appointment with our State Health Insurance Assistance Program Coordinator, she will be available to help you…

  • Understand your Medicare or Medicare Advantage Plan.
  • Answer questions about Medigap Medigap and other health insurance programs for Seniors.
  • Can assist Medicare beneficiaries in specific areas such as Home Health benefits, Medicare claims & appeals, and other similar issues.
  • Get Seniors and/or people with disabilities help with low income subsidies for drugs. Assist them with Medicare Savings programs such as Home Health benefits, Medicare QMB, SLMB, QI-1, and LIS (Low-Income Subsidy).
  • Help with retirement issues.

For Open Enrollment (October 15 – December 7), make an appointment to let us help you find the best Part D plan for you.
You would need to bring your Medicare Card and a list of your current medications with dosage and strength.

Last year, we helped 523 DeKalb County residents assess their Medicare Part D plans. 234 chose to change their plan saving them $362,008 this year!
